Our Story
Back in 2011, entrepreneurial couple Bharat Kumar and Maya Gadde founded ScootPad to launch the world's first mastery-based adaptive learning platform for the K-12 market. Their shared passion and vision to transform learning with best-in-class technology formed the bedrock to launch the edapt higher-ed platform in 2018.
Here’s how the story unfolded so far...
2011
ScootPad was founded in Silicon Valley by Bharat Kumar & Maya Gadde.
2012 - 2014
Launched ScootPad platform for the K-12 market. Released elementary grades (K-5). Reached 1+ million students across 12k+ schools.
2015 - 2017
Released middle school grades (6-8) on the ScootPad K-12 platform. Launched SimplyAdaptive app for elementary grades (K-5). Reached 2+ million students across 21k+ schools.
2018 - 2019
Launched edapt platform for the higher-ed market. Signed a strategic customer (a publicly listed company with 5 higher-ed institutions) to launch adaptive online courses.
2020
ACT.org acquired ScootPad K-12 platform and the entire K-12 business. edapt higher-ed platform was spin-off to create edapt Technologies Inc. led by founders Bharat Kumar & Maya Gadde.
2021 - 2022
edapt higher-ed platform powered 5,000+ course sessions, served 25,000+ unique students and delivered 100+ million learning experiences. The edapt 2022 Efficacy Report was released.
